Education an altruism are just as big of a part of Dr. Rod Rohrich’s career as performing surgery. The internationally known plastic surgeon has already given over 1,500 presentations about plastic surgery and has been the chair of more than 100 educational symposiums both nationally and internationally. His repertoire of experience will have three more symposiums included in the first quarter of 2018; two of which he will be chairing and organizing himself. These symposium are the Baker Gordon Educational Symposium as well as a pair that will be happening successively: the Global Dallas Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine Meeting and the Dallas Rhinoplasty Meeting. The 2018 Medicine Meeting will be the 21st time this annual symposium has been held.
The Baker Symposium has been held since 1967 and is known for its live surgical presentations: Dr. Rod Rohrich will be performing a live rhinoplasty at this event. The Medicine and Rhinoplasty Meetings will both be chaired by Dr. Rod Rohrich and will both have labs and presentations featuring fresh cadavers that will give attendees hands on experience with different procedures.Philanthropy is very important to Dr. Rod Rohrich, in the past he has been on the board of Save the Children, the American Cancer Society, and March of Dimes. He is also a founder of Dallas for Children Foundation; he and his wife, who have two children together, were both co-chairs in the past.
Rohrich has assisted in providing immunizations to impoverished children in the Dallas area and performs reconstructive surgery on deformed and severely burned children in Third World Countries.Dr. Rod Rohrich graduated with honors from the Baylor College of Medicine. He also earned degrees from universities in his home state of North Dakota: the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University where he graduated with high honors.Dr. Rod Rohrich has been the recipient of several prestigious awards and honors. Good Housekeeping recognized him as one of the best doctors in the United States and he has been a Texas Super Doctor since 2005.
