Sujit Choudhry’s Knowledge of the Political World

 Recognized across the world as an expert in law and politics, Sujit Choudhry is often called upon to give his advice and expertise. Choudhry recently used his expertise in a chapter of the book Constitutional Democracies in Crisis? This writing has gained lots of attention and continues to validate Sujit Choudhry is an expert in his field.

Choudhry is using this latest writing to share his opinion on several topics in today’s political world. In particular Professor Choudhry is focused on decline of democracy and the power of the office of the president. Choudhry believes that democracy has been more at risk in recent years. The court system, in particular Poland’s Constitutional Court has been Choudhry’s first focus when discussing the threats to constitutional democracy. He believes factors affecting such change include rules governing panels, voting, and the introduction of an Interim President.

Sujit Choudhry is a Professor of Law at the University of California. Currently he serves as the Director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. In 2014 Choudhry became the first person of Indian origin to be named dean of a top US law school. Choudhry’s resume is quite impressive. For more than two decades he has served as a constitutional advisor. His current duties include serving as a member of the United Nations Mediation Roster. In addition he is also an advisor to the World Bank Institute. Choudhry’s achievements include being a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford. Just three years ago he was given the “Trailblazer Award” by the South Asian Bar Associations of Southern California.
