New Voice Search Criminal Investigation Software from Securus Technologies Released

The “Investigator Pro 4.0” software is an amazing tool for criminal investigators, using technology developed by the U.S. Department of Defense to identify the parties of a call by voice, rather than relying solely on telephone number PINs or IDs. By using this software with an inmate’s telephone to pinpoint and keep track of persons of interest, investigators can gather information more effectively.

This software promises to be especially effective in identifying gang and other criminal activities. By providing data about an inmate’s regular contacts, investigators don’t have to catalog multiple random phone numbers or struggle to identify persons of interest in contact with an inmate. It even tracks its “confidence” in the voice identification, so investigators will never have to guess at the program’s accuracy.

Biometrics and computer analysis are still relatively new to law enforcement and criminal investigation. Technology can provide so many improvements to criminal investigation and corrective facilities, and Securus is attempting to fulfill this need. Securus has been a Better Business Bureau accredited business since March 2016, and serves about 2,600 correctional facilities. Many of Securus’s solutions involve making technology available to inmates in correctional facilities while managing the security concerns of an evolving technological world.

Securus Technologies is Making An Impact With Automated Forms Technology

Securus Technologies, a leader in technology innovations regarding the civil and criminal justice fields has recently introduced its Inmate Forms and Grievance application on ConnectUs. The application helps public safety, corrections, investigations, and monitoring organizations with day-to-day work activities.

I feel that the introduction of this technology will help the customers of Securus Technologies. The technology will allow users to save time and money by implementing the application into daily operations.

Regarding correctional facilities, I think that the use of the Inmate Forms and Grievance application on ConnectUs will help tremendously concerning time and money because the application will move the facilities away from traditional methods of assisting inmates with various requests.

Typically inmates requests are handled by using paper forms, which includes requests for medical, grievances, signup, and handbook acceptance forms. The amount of time spent filing, storing, logging, distributing, collecting, and routing the forms is enormous.

On the other hand, by using the Inmate Forms and Grievance application on ConnectUs, correctional facilities are able to make custom forms and provide the forms to inmates easily. In addition, no printing is involved and the forms can be changed in a few minutes.

The use of the Inmate Forms and Grievance application allows correctional facilities to move from manual paper operations to digital operations. The use of digital operations transforms the process from a manual process to an automation process. This change allows corrections’ staff to save time on completing form requests and focus more on security and safety.

Securus Technologies is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The company serves over 3,000 law enforcement, public safety, and corrections agencies in North America. Additionally, Securus Technologies serves over 1.2 million inmates across North America.

I believe that the technology provided by Securus Technologies such as the Inmate Forms and Grievance application on ConnectUs will help improve the daily operations at many correctional facilities across North America.

Securus Technologies Puts Spotlight on GTL Wrongdoings

Securus Technologies, known as a leading provider of civil and criminal justice technology, investigation, stated that they will begin releasing a series of findings that will highlight unethical behavior by Global Tel Link. Securus will expose multiple issues of systematic wrongdoings by GTL in a series of press releases over the next six months with the aim of shaming GTL into adapting more ethical behavior in the future.

GTL Misconduct Documented

The first report focuses on GTL’s activities during the time they worked with the Louisiana Department of Corrections in providing phone services to inmates throughout the corrections system. During this time GTL has been found to have set their telephones to add seconds to the duration of each call. During this time GTL is also accused of programming its phones to rate calls at much higher rates than currently permitted under rate caps. Additionally, GTL artificially inflated charges to its customers by adding various amounts of money to its calls after the calls were rated and billed single calls more than once. The report concludes that these actions were performed with the full knowledge of the organization and that they ended up costing
Louisiana taxpayers a significant amount of money in overcharges.

The level of GTL misconduct exposed in this first report is certainly high, and with further reports incoming over the next six months it is safe to say that GTL will have a lot to answer for. With its main goal of exposing and influencing GTL into ethical taking up ethical action, this first release appears to be a step in the right direction.
